"Spring"

Its Spring! But Mother Nature missed the message as instead of gardens bursting with flowers we have 3 feet of snow and more on the way (but hey, this is Canada we're talking about). Snow or not, we now have less than 10 days until the expected arrival of the first lambs of the year.

The lambs from 2013 are growing like weeds! Soon they'll graduate and be known the "teenagers".

With 49 expectant mamas the next few weeks will be hectic to say the least. We spent a day last week out in the barn building another set of lambing panels which should give us enough to construct 14 "private suites" to allow mama and new lambs to bond in the first few days without the hustle and bustle of the rest of the flock.

The sheep are still on "winter time" which means they're spending their days outside in the sun and gossiping the time away as any good sheep should. Meanwhile we've been dashing around gathering supplies, rebuilding feeders, and putting together our lambing kits.

The count down is on!
